How Living Free Helps Animals in Need

A refuge for those in need of a second chance

Living Free is a nonprofit animal sanctuary whose primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find permanent homes for healthy dogs and cats whose time is up at public shelters. They are also home to War Horse Creek, an immersive transition training program using rescued wild mustangs to assist veterans as they adjust to civilian life.

Toys to Support Causes & Initiatives That Are Near & Dear to HuggleGroup™

Right now, we are partnering with Pet Food Experts to support Living Free Animal Sanctuary and their efforts to support animals in need of a second chance with our Klondike and L.T. Knotties®!

Klondike was rescued in 2016 and adopted in 2018 by Larry Madrid, a long-time dog trainer for movies and tv. He trained Klondike to play the part of Trusty in the 2019 live-action Disney Production of Lady and the Tramp! She was then adopted by the Production Assistant on set, Adam Strobel, to live the rest of her life in a loving home.

L.T, short for Little Tyke was rescued in 2021 as a tiny pup unable to be nursed by his emaciated mother who was rescued with him. The staff at Living free nursed him back to health every few hours for several weeks and eventually he was adopted by one of the crew members, Michelle, when he became a "foster fail"!

Thanks to Living Free, these pups were able to feel love and peace after being rescued.

Honoring Klondike 🐕

The Klondike Knottie® is a special toy created in honor of Klondike, a real-life Bloodhound who was rescued by Living Free in 2016. Klondike went on to star in the 2019 live-action Disney production of Lady and the Tramp as the character Trusty. After the film, she found a forever home with Adam Strobel, where she lived out her final years. Klondike passed away in 2021, but her story lives on through this commemorative toy.
