Warrior Canine Connection pays tribute to fallen Warriors by naming each trained pup after a service member who has left an outstanding impact on the world.
Luke and Tommy II are not only the names of our service dog Knotties®, but also the names of Warrior trained service dogs who represent 1st Sgt. Luke Mercardante, a proud Marine killed in action in Kandahar Province Afghanistan and Capt. Lowell Thomas Miller II, a member of the United States Army who was killed while serving in Iraq.
These special service dogs both have been nationally recognized for their amazing and inspiring stories. Luke with AKC Service Dog of the Year, and Tommy as a semi-finalist in the American Humane Hero Dog Award.
Since being paired with their service members, the dogs have impacted their partners lives by supporting them through mobility issues due to physical injury and psychological issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Luke and Tommy II have instilled hope for the future of their partners by being alongside of them during both good and bad days of their recovery.
